Ambiguous Lucidity |
Irrelevant musings and incidental whimsies of a mind burdened with the monotonous life of a witless university student with no concept of her future. (Basically I'm bored and own a computer) Relevant information: Mrimm's OT3 is Catullus/Dragoon the Great/My humble self. Well, she ships it anyway. I find no reason not to encourage it. |
“I’ll come after you if you don’t.”
This is perhaps the most frightening sentence that I’ve ever heard John Watson say, because this clear, quick, unadulterated threat is said so very, very plainly, with that tilt of the head and little, almost pleasant smile that echoes the warehouse moment with Mycroft in PINK. It’s absolutely clear in this moment that John Watson has no compunctions about going after anyone who wounds his friend, and it’s utterly terrifying to consider.
With all due respect to the beautiful and conniving and enthralling and terrifying Ms. Adler, whom I adore with all my heart, I still found it remarkably insulting how Irene thought she could talk John into betraying Sherlock for her, by helping her steal her phone back. I’m sure Irene didn’t purposefully mean or intend it, but it speaks a lot about John that he took it as a betrayal nevertheless. The scene that followed after this, in which he flat out refused to do anything Irene asked him, speaks volumes about his sheer loyalty and dedication to his friend.
There is nothing John wouldn’t do to protect Sherlock’s heart.
Even if, at the moment, John isn’t the one holding it. Owning it.
John is, foremost and always, a protector of Sherlock’s heart.
